Art for Social Change

The 2nd annual A World Without Abuse—Expanding the Circle is calling all artists!

This unique community arts exhibition has its roots in social justice. Its purpose is to engage community members in recognizing the interrelated structure of our society, specifically regarding child abuse. All members of society contribute to the systems, social norms, and individual behaviors that, held together, shape our world. Creating a safe community for everyone – including all children, tweens, and teens – starts with a shared vision of a world without abuse. By helping to co-create this vision, everyone can actively expand our region’s circle of protection.

Join the Exhibit

Seasoned artists, novices and “just plain folks” are invited to submit visual artwork of all media and, to align with the theme, explore the following questions and incorporate a circle or circles into the design:

  • What does a world without abuse look like to you?
  • How can we expand our circle of protection so that child abuse becomes rare and non-recurring in our lifetime?

Register now to submit your art for this unique community exhibit:

Deadline for art submissions is March 15, 2019.

No entry fee is required.

Participating artists should deliver their work to: Traverse Bay Children’s Advocacy Center, 2000 Chartwell Drive, Suite 3, Traverse City, MI 49696.

This year’s exhibit will open on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at an evening event at the City Opera House in Traverse City, MI.
