Community Sexual Abuse Prevention Training

Parents, grandparents, social workers, youth volunteers and other caring adults are invited to attend a FREE child sexual abuse prevention training honoring National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Hosted by child protection experts at the Traverse Bay Children’s Advocacy Center (TBCAC), the Darkness to Light Stewards of Children® program is an interactive two-hour training featuring real people and real stories about protecting children from sexual abuse.

“Nine out of ten children who are sexually abused are harmed by someone they know, love or trust,” shared TBCAC Executive Director Sue Bolde. “It’s unfair to place the onus of stopping sexual abuse on the shoulders of child victims; rather, those of us who are entrusted with their care and well-being must learn how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse… this training does just that.”

Coffee and Morsels will be provided. To register, contact Jourdan Dean at jdean@traversebaycac.org or call (241) 929-4250.

TBCAC is a certified presenter of this nationally acclaimed training program and has trained approximately 5% of the adult population of the Grand Traverse Region to-date.
